CASE 02 · SUPPLY CHAIN
Six thousand invoices a month, typed by nobody.
THE CONTEXT
The same franchise group's supply chain: 140 stores, each buying from multiple suppliers, every delivery arriving with its own paper or PDF invoice.
THE PROBLEM
Roughly six thousand supplier invoices landed every month, and every one of them was typed into the accounting system by hand. It was slow, it was error-prone, and it had quietly become a full-time job that nobody had actually signed up for.
WHAT WE BUILT
We built a document-capture app: photograph an invoice or forward it by email, and the system reads the supplier, the line items and the prices straight off the page. A person only opens it when something looks wrong — a price jump, a missing item, a supplier it doesn't recognise. Everything else posts itself.
THE RESULT
- Invoices automated
- 6,000/mo
- Cost to capture one
- Near zero
- Supplier price changes
- Visible same day
- Human review
- Exceptions only
